Levis Vintage - L/S Striped Tee

Just got back from quick trip to San Francisco. It is the only other city I would ever consider calling home. I managed to pick up this long sleeve nautical shirt by LVC trying to kill some spare time before my flight back to Cascadia. Shopping wasn't really the focus of my trip but obviously I was able to sneak it in. If you've been curious about the Levis Vintage line of casual shirts and tops, now is the time to pull the trigger because they can be acquired for a fairly decent sale price at numerous  stockists the world over. End Clothing in the UK has a nice assortment of sizes and styles available. If you have a Barneys COOP near you, I would check there as well. That is where I scored mine on the cheap. The color, weight and stitch details are very nice. The fit is also extremely interesting. Very authentic and definitely not your run of the mill cotton shirt. Those boys over at LEVIS XX take their jobs seriously.

    -side note- This fit is gonna look a lot better when my Birkenstock Bostons show up...

INDIGO JAWNZ : 45 rpm

Picked up a fantastic Half button, pop-over smock by 45 rpm. The garment is 100% Indigo dyed cotton with an all over print detail, red accents and a nice, comfortable fit. I think I like 45rpm as much as Billy likes gap-teeth. Go figure... click pic for fit details.

I hate taking WAYWT's

I picked up this shnazzy 45rpm shirt a week or two ago and I never got around to sharing. The shirt is constructed of super soft cotton in Nantucket red with wood buttons and an asymmetrical chest pocket. I love the vibrant color paired with subtle stripes and soft blues. Makes me wish I was on vacation or at the beach. I'll probably only be able to wear it for another month or so. It has already hit my rotation pretty heavy.

Woolrich Woolen Mills : Explorer Hat

Light-hearted accessories are right up my alley. I think they add an interesting and subtle layer of humor to your outfit when paired with the right color palette. The Woolrich Woolen Mills Explorer is one of the best bucket hats on the market and Tres Bien Shop has a nice selection of different prints just in time for the hottest months of the North American summer. Check out your local WWM stockists as they seem to all be receiving a varied seleciton of the available prints. From what I can tell, they seem to be selling through pretty quickly so I'd move quick if you are interested in finding one for the rest of the summer.

I purchased the navy version a few months back at Unionmade but I never got around to taking any pictures of it for Oregon or Bust. It is pretty much the best bucket hat I have ever owned. The fit and floppy nature of the bill are the perfect combination.

Vintage Lowtop Oxfords

While out shooting a waywt for House of Leaves, Nicole snapped a quick pic of my "newish" vintage lowtop oxfords. I won these a few months back on the ebay but I never got around to sharing pictures of them. They kind of remind me of a less cool version of  the silhouette which has been done up (or re-introduced) by almost every other company (including Red Wing for spring11.) They were super cheap and have a classic goodyear welt outsole. Too bad they aren't comfortable in the slightest.

Nike All Court low : Midnight Navy

As if I needed more blue, I stumbled across these quickstrike NSW's that dropped at Compound last friday. I have plans to remove the swoosh from both the lateral and medial side but there is still a lot of inaction on my behalf. I love the simple, clean profile and the rubber toe looks really ill in contrast with the midnight navy upper. I love that tonal stuff right now. 

Pickups: Unis Chambray Shorts

Now that the spring season is in full swing and the hot months loom on the horizon. I figured I should probably find something a bit more comfortable to wear during the day other then jeans. Unfortunately, finding nice items in Portland can be somewhat of a chore unless you know exactly where to look. Thankfully, the fine ladies over at Francis May had just thing thing I was looking for. Lightweight cotton chambray shorts by Unis. The construction, detail and quality of the shorts is far above and beyond what you would come expect. While some people may be averse to the short-shorts, I find them to be the perfect casual look and they would certainly work well in any number of styles. Since I seem to be decked out in all blue everything lately, I had to have them. I can pretty much wear them with anything in my closet.

Pickups: Chambray Converse Chucks

When I rolled into Compound the other day I couldn't believe they had these new Converse Chuck Taylors sittin on display. Obviously I shouldn't have thought otherwise. Compound is one of the premier sneaker spots in the United States and a mainstay in our little neighborhood in Portland. These dudes have been cutting it up in Old-Town/China-Town for over 10 years.

Ira, Del. Colton, Matt and the whole crew bring in the illest mix of streetwear, sneakers and Japanese art in the city... This shit is like a legend in Japan so don't sleep kids.

I love the extra high rubber side wall. The addition of the rubber panel accentuates the classic styling of the Chuck Taylor and takes this shit to a whole different level. The chambray material in moonlight blue is perfect for the next 6 months and really pops in contrast to the rubber.

I can't wait til these things are trashed. Then they'll be perfect.
