I've always loved browsing through the prison tattoo artwork featured in these books. You can buy them at the Blackbird Book club. I highly reccomend them.

"San Francisco I love you, Portland lets just be friends"

San Francisco is one of the only other places I feel as comfortable as I do in Portland. Last weekend I ventured down to the Mission District to witness the historic unveiling of Sidney Lo's first book, Taking Pictures of People Who Take Pictures of Themselves. He traveled the world documenting various members of the Superfuture community. Completely funded out of his own pocket, the end result is truly eye-opening account into our little bizzaro world. A shrewd and introspective community with members who value escapism, brottastic camaraderie, ultra-elitism and Photoshop all the same. Not easily explained and often misunderstood by others, this book will blow you away. (It made Kiya cry.)
